Forensic psychology Ltd accepts instructions and referrals from:
· The Courts
· Counsel
· Ministry of Justice
· District Health Boards and other health providers
· The Department of Corrections
· Police
· Emergency Services
· Private Organisations
· Private individuals when instructed through Counsel
· Third-party funding such as Legal Aid is accepted
Examples of medico-legal reports prepared by Forensic Psychology Ltd include Health Assessment Reports pursuant to or in relation (but not limited) to:
· The Criminal Procedure (Mentally Impaired Persons) Act 2003 (including orders under sections
38 and 23)
· The Sentencing Act 2002 (including orders under section 88)
· Parole Act 2002 (including orders under section 1071AA)
· Criminal Records (‘Clean Slate’) Act 2004
· Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003
Examples of other independent psychological reports include:
· Pre-sentence reports
· Pre-release reports
· Diagnostic evaluation
· Risk assessment of general, sexual and violence recidivism
· Management strategies
· Treatment options (rehabilitative)
· Assessment of psychosexual development
· Attitudes regarding sexual behaviour and sexual offending
· Behavioural management strategies
· Treatment planning (institutional, and community release planning)
Forensic Psychology Ltd does not currently offer treatment services to individual clients.
